America's Wars
Iraq Body Count
A reliable count of the Iraqi dead... since the Pentagon claims: "We don’t do body counts" General Tommy Franks, US Central Command. It's good for everyone to know how many deaths are on the American collective conscience - for those who still have one.

The Downing Street Memo
This site contains details of the Downing Street Memo, as well as links for letters, petitions, and other web sites that will help you to do more than just complain about it! Please join in our demand that the Bush administration be held accountable for its lies and for the fabrication of false data used to justify the war in Iraq.

Educational Curriculum
Stories of Creation
Here is a teacher of geology from Georgia that was so sick of being told biblical accounts of history that he decided to acquiesce and include creationism stories in his curriculum. But not in the hypocritically one sided way the Christians would have liked it. He includes creation stories from many of the cultures and religions around the world. Now THAT'S education!

Fact Finding
Corp Watch
Follow the money if you want to know the truth. The news at this site is well documented and reveals the true capitalist war machine for what it is... corporate colonialism in the modern age.

Move OUR Money
A group dedicated to raising public awareness about the amount of tax dollars we waste on war and killing, and it's domestic cosequences: a nation unable to educate, house, feed, or provide health care for it's people. Take the "Ride" and see for yourself. Or click on the "main" button and then go to "money bars" for a quick graphic representation that defies description.

News Sources
Asia Times on-line
Currently this is my favorite source of news both regionally and world wide.

The Nation
Unconventional Wisdom Since 1865... a newspaper where liberal is not a dirty word.

The Smirking Chimp
A blog site which has quite the membership, posts many interesting articles from a variety of papers and writers - predominantly from the US, and which is both enlightening and refreshing for those of us who feel ostracized and isolated under the current Neo-Con religious regime.

The Taipei Times
A local Taipei English language newspaper for anyone curious about the news in Taiwan.

The Guardian
An English newspaper which I also consult frequently to get a more European perspective on world events.

News Hounds - They watch Fox news so we don't have to.
This is a site that reports on the abuse of trust currently underway in the corporate news media in the US. Whether through the omission of vital information, the manipulation of facts, or the lack of investigative journalism and the acceptance of State propaganda at face level, TV news has become little more than infotainment with a political agenda. If you don’t believe me then read some of the stories on this site.

Watching America
America has what must be the largest provincial and egocentric media in the world. We can't even watch British television shows in our own native tongue. We have to remake them with American accented actors and re-set the story in an American city before it is palatable to the average American. This ignorance of what others around the world see and read keeps us isolated and apathetic. Here is a site that translates the world’s news so you can read what people in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Central America, South America, Mexico, and Oceania are saying about America.

Peace Groups
Amnesty International
People who REALLY care about human rights.

School of the Americas Watch
A grassroots group working in solidarity with the people of Latin America to close the military institute resposible for teaching torture to our friends and future foes.

Greenpeace
To be honest I find Greenpeace to be "anti-technology" sometimes without good cause. But overall their compassion, concern, and watchfulness helps to protect our world from those who lack the ability, usually due to greed, to monitor themselves.
